I know this shows how much we get into the shows we watch but after a long hard day of classes and work, we love watching the biggest loser together. this season has been a little hard for me to watch due to the massive amounts of drama-rama between the teams and I just don't think its fun to watch when people are so rude to each other. Anyways, to make the long story short BRADY got kicked off last night and I'm soo happy! Him and his wife are the main cause of all this drama so its great!!! I literally screamed and shouted for joy when Amy P. voted him off! wishes do come true!!

bikes bikes bikes

If anyone has been in our garage lately, you'd think it was a bike shop. We've got several bikes, and bike parts, thanks mainly to Scott but this latest edition happens to mine! I'm so excited my cruiser finally came!

Routan Babymaker

So i was talking to a friend today at church and she told me about this website, so I thought i'd check it out. You put a picture of two people and they show you what their baby will look like. They have an example of Palin and Obama, and it was pretty funny.
here is a picture of our proud image baby...hahaha..

Halloween Laughs

For Halloween, we invited our friends John and Laura over to enjoy a fun festive night. Little did we know we'd be spending time with Juno and Tom Selleck! When they came to our door I thought Laura was trying to tell me something so when she asked me if I knew who she was, I wanted to say "you in 5 months?"....just to clarify, she was NOT trying to tell me something.

Tom aka Tyron

My mom has made this dinner in a pumkin meal for Halloween ever since I can remeber,
it was a lot of fun except
I was in such a hurry I forgot to add one of the main ingredients! oops!

Isaac Comes to town...

My brother Isaac came into town for a day and it was
alot of fun to see him! It has totally made my whole month!
he works retail and so its hard for him to get away to see family.
He brought along his friend,Kim, who was so much fun to hang out with!
We went and ate sushi for dinner and watched a movie that night.

While Scott and Isaac worked on Isaac's new fixy the next day, me and Kim hit the mall.
It was so nice to go with someone who loves shopping as much as I do and not
have to feel guilty dragging poor Scott along for the ride. We also took a ride
around the neighborhood to see all the leaves turning colors, it was so much fun!

before they left, we made sure to introduce them to J-dogs and
got a few pictures in.

wrappin' up summer...

So summer is over and we haven't had a lot of time to let ya know how our summer ended but it sure did end in a bang but...

First, Scott got paid to fly out to Waterloo, Wisconsin and demo the new 2009 Trek Mountain Bikes and he loved it!

We also got to go see my family for the 4th of July and celebrate with good food, lots of water skiing and 4 wheeling.

Our last vacation trip was to Flagstaff, Arizona where we had a Berrett family reunion and it was so fun to hang out at the pool, visit slide rock (although we couldn't go in the water cause there was to much bacteria), and spend time with the family. we also updated our family picture which turned out pretty well.

To end the summer with a bang, labor day evening came and we found out that our swamp cooler has been leaking water into the downstairs basement the whole summer! Our downstairs neighbors came home from a summer of sales in Texas to find that not only had it ruined the walls but there was black mold growing! we had to leave right away and were out of our house for almost 3 whole weeks. We were blessed to have gracious neighbors and family that let us stay with them a few nights and Scott's parent's hooked us up at a hotel for a few days (which was very nice since Scott got super sick and was throwing up for the whole 3 days we were there). I had been sick the last two months but never knew why I was getting sick. Its just nice to know that I'm not going crazy. here are some pic's of the mold.

okay so it really wasn't this bad. we forgot to take pictures and this is what i found on the internet.

All in All it was a good summer, one that we'll never forget!

skydiving

So i finally got to go skydiving and it was a lot of fun! as you can see by the video, I got just a little nervous when i got to the door of the plane, it was like my brain shut off and I didn't even realize the guy was grabbing my hand off the plane till we jumped out. I also forgot that I get really bad motion sickness so on the way up I was starting to get nauseous and when I got down on the ground they offered me a hand up and I told them I was pretty sure if I got up, I'd throw up- they immediately backed away. Other than that though- it was amazing! I was so glad Angie and Megan could go with me!

Russia

So today my coworkers were discussing whether or not Russia was considered part of Asia or Europe, some of them argued that because most of the population is closer to Europe that its Europe, while others say most of it territory is closer to Asia. Then there was the debate of what Russians really look like, European or Asian. So, if you have any good insight to this, please, let me know! We are trying to get to the bottom of this!

Califorina Lovin'

I got to go see one of my bff's - Emily just two weeks ago, and i had so much fun! she lives right on Huntington beach, so we spent a lot of time at the beach, and she also introduced me to yogurtland- my new favorite place, ever. We also went to California Adventurese and Disneyland. We visited Balbou Island and tried out choclate dipped frozen bananas. Here are some of my fav. pics.

Babies! Babies!

Some of our greatest joys for me and Scott is our family. We both got very lucky and have great families. Scott's family seems to be growing quite a bit latly which is great for us cause we love being an Aunt and Uncle. Our neices and nephews are our favorite people in the world, so I thought I'd show off how cute they are!
The picture above is Scott's Sister and her two kids- new baby Tanner and his proud sister Kiersten...below is busy Belle who just turned 4.

Here is a video of Brooklyn- she is going to be having a sibling in December - although I don't think she quite understands it yet. She is pretty funny when you get her going.

Cardon is my brother's son and is always this happy! everyone calls him little chris farley cause he is always making people laugh and always so happy.

Updates

A lot of things have happened since the last time we blogged, so I thought it might be good to just list a few things that we've been up to. We've been really bad at taking pictures so I don't have any to add to here.

This summer is looking pretty good so far. After deciding not to work for Marriott, Scott found a job that he really enjoys in American Fork with a Trek Bike store. He enjoys the job as well as the people at the store, so we are very happy with it. I found a new job as well working for Verizon Wireless as a Rep at the bestbuy in Orem. I love my new bosses and the people I work with. I just need to find better shoes so my feet don't hurt so bad.

We are planning a few fun things this summer. I am going to Cali to visit Emily Hatch- one of my dear friends. She lives right on Huntington Beach, and tickets were so cheap I couldn't pass it up. It'll be a nice to have some girl time vacation. We are also have a family reunion trip for both sides of the family. And I'm hoping to celebrate my birthday by going skydiving...Its turning out to be a pretty good summer.
p.s. Our garden is actually growing!!

Kickball Mayhem

So, as many of you may know, Virginia and I are on an intermural kickball team with our ward this spring. It's been a great opportunity for me to re-live my high school glory days of baseball (closely related to kickball). Unfortunately I sometimes get a little to into it and forget that sliding into 3rd on a rough field doesn't go over well when wearing shorts...

Virginia strained her quad pretty good. So hopefully we'll be all rested by the time saturday's season closer comes around.
So i am really into quizzes on facebook and I found this one that I can put on my blog. I just finished watching Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, and Jane Eyre so it was fun to take.

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Monday Night = American Gladiators

As you can tell, our family is super excited that season 2 of American Gladiators is finally here! Tonight was the season premier and it was not just one but TWO hours long! Its so fun to watch something that you grew up with and have it be back on tv. This show is a very inspiring show for me and I have 2 favorite Gladiators- Crush (she used to be a cage fighter) and Jet (last season's winner- shes a soccer mom). They truly inspired me as I prepare for a triathlon in June. I know it sounds cheesy but trust me, its inspiring. My new life long goal is to be able to see it live! It would be a dream come true! If you missed tonight, remember next Monday night on NBC- its definitely entertaining.

Spring is for Seeds!

With the time that Scott and I have had over the last week, we decided to plant a garden for the summer. Spring/Summer is finally here so we went to wal-mart and picked out our favorite veggies including tomatoes, squash, banana peppers and beans. this morning we began to plant them we realized that we had no idea what we were doing. after reading the directions twice, we took it in consideration and did what we thought was best- dig holes and bury the seeds... in a few weeks you can stop by and see a garden like this...maybe

Tradition

This was our wedding cake, we kept it a year and practiced the tradition of eating it a year later. it was gross..

ALL IN A YEAR....

This week Scott and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! I know! Its kinda weird how fast time flies by! I can't believe its been a year since we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Many of you didn't think we'd make it this far and at times I thought the same thing! Thanks goodness for answered prayers. Just a few things that we've been able to experience in the last year:

- whitewater rafting the Colorado River
- 12 hour drive to Tuscon Arizona and experiencing Gini on drugs
- Planning a fake mission call for Dallin
- Enduring Provo summer heat with no ac
- Going on our first cruise to Mexico (learning that sangera has alcohol in it in Mexico..opps!)
- Scott learning to drive a boat
- Learning we both have really really bad morning breath
- Camping for the fist time as a family
- Realizing that there really is such a thing as "honeymoon stage" and you get over it fast

We've had our ups and downs but its been a good year and we are excited to see how year #2 goes!

Trek Demo Daze

So, as many of you may know, I enjoy mountain biking. I really, really enjoy it. Yesterday I took a break from taking a break from studying and decided to head out to Lambert Park near Alpine, UT to do some morning biking.

I loaded everything up in the car and drove out. I got to Lambert Part around 10:30. I was out on the trail by 10:35 and just 5 pedal strokes later I snapped my chain. This was the 3rd time in less than a month that I've broken this chain. I was frustrated. I coasted back to the car and was packing everything up when 2 guys on really nice Trek bikes approached me and asked me how to get to a near by parking lot. I chatted with them for a moment and they informed me that the Trek Factory people were up at the next parking lot with a trailor full of bikes to let people take out and demo! This was music to my ears! Not only would I still be able to ride, I could do it on some sweet bikes and not have to worry about breaking any more chains.

I drove up to the parking lot, and got all signed up. I won't bore you all with the details of the bikes I rode or how they compared to each other. But it suficeth me to say that they were good. I added up the prices on the 4 bikes I rode; it was a total of $13.906.

I rode for about 2 hours. I think I covered between 20-25 miles. It was incredible! Here are a couple of the bikes I rode.

Trek 69er 3x9 (~$1,800) This one was my favorite

Trek 69er Single Speed (~$2,300)Trek Fuel EX 9 (~$3,400)
Trek Fuel EX 9.5 (~$6,200) This thing was incredible!

Lesson #206 - Broiling

You know those days when salsa and tortilla chips just sound sooo good?!

Well, that happened to me yesterday and we didn't have any chips so I thought I'd whip out my domestic skills and make my own out of tortillas. My sisters does it all the time, it can't be too hard.

I put the oven on Broil and popped them in....and then i forgot about them.... oops.

Lesson#206 : Don't EVER forget somethings in the oven when it is set to Broil High.

Exciting News....

We just found out today that Scott got a job with Marriott and will be starting in the next two weeks! We are super excited about it. Both of us are quitting our jobs at the same time, so its been a little stressful trying to find jobs in Provo. We love the jobs that we have now- mainly because the hours are wonderful and very flexible- we haven't had to work a Saturday since we've been married! But we know its time to change and we know that the free weekends will no longer exsist. But we are okay with it and super excited to share the benefits of having someone work in the Hotel/Resort Department!

1st ride of the year

The last couple weeks in Utah has been so cloudy and cold, we've even got some snow this last week. I really thought that warm weather was never going to come, and with finals coming up I really just wanted a little bit of sunshine to make the days better. And we finally got it today! It was over 50 degrees- so to celebrate me and Scott went for a bike ride up Provo Canyon and had so much fun! it was my first time trying out my road bike and I highly recommend it to anyone who has been thinking about biking.

Notice how our car matches our bikes. a little too much silver- Scott has a friend who is going to paint mine for me, but i'm not sure what color yet.

first time for everything

So this is my first time blogging and I feel a little insecure. I'm not sure what this is all about but I've been thinking about it for almost months!

A little update: we are happy to announce that Scott only have 23 credits left till he can graduate and I have 32 left and I just got into the program I applied for! We aren't sure what lays ahead of us after school but right now we are just worried about finishing. Both of us are anxiously waiting for this semester to end so we can move onto summer!

Speaking of summer, we are planning on staying in Provo for the summer and work; take a few summer classes and hopefully enjoy the nice dry heat maybe hit up the Provo river a few times.

I'm searching for another job right now. I had an interview at Sundance this week and am waiting to hear back for another interview...hopefully. What I don't understand is why do interviews sometimes have so many weird questions. The one that really surprised me was when she asked " Who is your best friend and why?" I really wanted to say something like "my credit card" or "you" but I said Scott...but why would they ask something like that? I just don't understand.

well thats all for now.....
